The mid-term workshop for the "Food Environments in Transitioning Economies" (FETE) project was held in Accra, Ghana from 2 to 5 September 2024. About 20 project participants met to discuss the current status of the project, the previous doctoral training programme in South Africa, and the topics of the 8 PhD students. The project team also discussed upcoming activities such as the field research phase in the four partner countries Ghana, Malaysia, South Africa and Tanzania, conferences and publications.
The workshop was hosted by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-STEPRI) in collaboration with the Thünen Institute for Market Analysis and convened in Accra, Ghana. In addition to CSIR-STEPRI and the Thünen Institute, the three other researching organisations involved in the project, the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM), and the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), participated.
